The pattern
- Type letters — what kind of unit it is (CK = campsite, BD = bungalow, GC = guest cottage, etc.).
- Capacity number — how many people the unit sleeps.
- Feature suffix — optional letters after the number: P (powered), D (disabled-accessible), V (view), U (upper floor). See the suffix table below.
SANParks doesn't publish one master glossary, and specific unit descriptions vary between camps — always confirm the exact unit on sanparks.org before you book.
Suffix quick-reference
These letters appear after the capacity number and stack — so BD2DV would be a 2-person disabled-accessible bungalow with a view.
